AKC Canine Good Citizen® Program. Training dogs to pass the Test

Started in 1989, the {rokbox size=|fullscreen| text=|AKC Canine Good Citizen® tests|}http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/{/rokbox}Program is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
In a little over one decade, the Canine Good Citizen Program has begun to have an extremely positive impact in many of our communities. This is a program that can help us assure that the dogs we love will always be welcomed and well-respected members of our communities.  Training dogs to be happy healthy members of society is both fun and really rewarding. The award of Canine good citizen really shows the dedication that responsible dog parents put into their canine partners. Many dogs that visit hospitals, nursing homes or assisted living have the award of Canine Good citizen.

Friends for life dog training offers training classes to help your pass the AKC Canine good citizen test.

Weather you have an adult dog or a new puppy we prepare you and your best friend for the ten step test by teaching everything you need to learn in our basic manners puppy classes and basic manners adult dog classes or private training sessions.  Then when you think you are ready for the test we set a date. This test is not appropriate for dogs that show dog to dog aggression or dog to human aggression.  That is not saying that we cannot also help you with this with private training. For information about the test or if you would like to set a test date for you and your dog please contact Dennis Fehling AKC CGC evaluator number #76279 at 541-350-2869. Congratulations to our newest CGC students.  Skip and his dog Thunder.  Gary and his dog Annabelle.  Diane And Ray and thier new best friend beaches.  Matt and Charlette and thier great dogs Lima and Izzy. And last but not least Lillian and her dogs Dee Dee and Tea.  Well done everyone.
